A drive with Charlie & Inga

Sunday the 13/11 to Marcoola met up with Charlie & Inga, they took us to Mount Timbeerwah, which only has a short walk to the top where you get a 360 degree view of the surrounding country.

After the mountain climb went to Tewantin on the Noosa River where we had a very nice lunch on a wharf overlooking the Noose river, walked around the riverside markets.  There was a woman singing there, she had a very good voice and vocal range, very impressed.  Tied up at the wharf were various craft one of them was very strange, see photos.
How the hall could you fish off that
Charlie drove us around for what seemed ages, how he found his way I don't know, lots of roundabouts, Karen became a little bit car sick.  He some how found the Spirit House in the middle of the scrub.  Now this Spirit house is something, I'll let you look at it on the net, the address is www.spirithouse.com.au a very nice place.
From there charlie took us to the Hyatt Coolum, very expensive place, Charlie worked there for a while on the golf coarse.  Had an expensive coffee, Charlie showed us around parts of the complex.  From there back to there place and home to the TURTLE.

Ginger Factory

Friday the 11/11 went to Yandina looked through the ginger factory, had  morning coffee, Karen bought some lollies, (scoffed the lot).  Had a look through the chocolate factory.  Went on to Cooroy where we had lunch at the local RSL, browsed through the markets, bought nothing, don't want to gather to many trinkets!!!  Left there, went to Lake McDonald where there is a nice Botanical Gardens, walked through the gardens, cams across a nesting pair of magpie geese with 6 goslings, walked around the lake.

We have a lot of very talented students. Home by 10.30 totally exgausted but feeling good.

Kenilworth trip

2-11-11 we had a nice drive to Kenilworth where we walked the town and did the tourist thing and went to the cheese factory for free tasting's and bought some cheese of course.  Had a very nice coffee & home made marsbar cheese cake, Karen did the op-shop over as well.
From there I used Tom Tom to take us up the back way to Maleny, there we walked the streets, looked at shops, one place in paticular took my eye, it had hand made timber furniture made by local craftsmen & women, some of the timbers I had never heard of, the place took you back with the smells.  Had vegan lunch at the Kind Living Cafe, wow tomething very different & nice.

Having a rest

From there we drove to Mapleton--Mapelton falls, did the 1.3k walk, would have been better with more water flowing but still a nice walk.

Karen look angry--what did I do???

Melbourne Cup Day

The next thing I remember was Melbourne Cup day.  I was shouted out by Pushpa & Geoff to the Water Front Hotel all you could eat & drink, Pushpa & I overindulged with Champagne, both chashed when we got home at 5pm.

All dressed up, what fun.

A night at the Caloundra RSL

Saturday night 29th Oct we went to the Caloundra RSL, (probably the best RSL on the sunshine coast) where we met up with Robyn Taylor & Lloyd Baimbridge, who is the drummer of the band Kickstart, they play 70's 80's & 90's music.  It was great to see Robyn having a good night things have been very stressful with Kerry been in hospital its about nine weeks now.
